Jason and Allison are married. Allison needed a few headshots and stopped by while running errands with her man.
Since we had some help, we asked Jason to be our test model. He happily accepted.
Hello Jason – great smile! Now time for the real model…
Great job Allison! She was a natural.
And lastly, a fun one of Jason pinning her Jacked in place for the shot.
Thanks again Jason and Allison!!
Growing up, a “headshot” was a cool thing I could never do on the once popular online game Counter-Strike. Fifteen years later, the term is professional-photography jargon for what normal people call a “portrait.” (Why don’t the pros just call it a portrait too?)
Marlen is an opera singer who was passing through Houston on her way to Indiana and heard about us from her sister Salwa. She had some headshots done in her last city and they turned out horrible, so she asked us to take some new ones.
We gladly accepted and helped her get some great posed photos. Thanks Marlen, it was a pleasure!!
Quinceañera. Quinceañera? What is that?
(in Latin America and among Latinos) a celebration of a girl’s fifteenth birthday and her transition from childhood to adulthood, typically involving a mass followed by a party.
Ahah! I had no idea what this word meant when I heard it about a week ago. People kept saying it, and I found out what it was, but I didn’t want to say it myself until I heard it from a native Spanish speaker. But new vocabulary and proper pronunciation aside I was very excited about this event!
We had the pleasure of providing our photo booth for Lumay’s Quinceañera. It was this last weekend at the Houston Racquet Club off Memorial and Voss, and it was magical.
First, Lumay may only have just turned 15, but she has the casual confidence of someone much older. Oh, and her dress was BOSS.
Everyone was having a great time! There was a lot of dancing and delicious (looking) food (we couldn’t sample as we were working hard!), but the photo booth was where it was at ^_^.
Here are a select handful of photos from the night.
Believe me now?! Bet you want a photo booth at your next party ^_^.
And lastly, we got a group shot of the photographers. Thanks Alex, Debi, Michael, Doyle and Kei!
A month ago we jumped at the opportunity to take photos for Salwa Owens’ new clothing line, that is being released today. She had three full wardrobe changes and we got some great photos of each outfit. Since she is posting first on her blog, we are a day or two behind her in releasing the images. This will be the first installment of three for her line. We plan to release a new set each Wednesday over the next two weeks.
When we took these, it was a nice crisp 95 degrees here in Houston. The location was at Jones Hall in downtown.
While she looks super serious and professional, Salwa had a great personality — being funny and very outgoing. A pleasure to work with!
You can check out more at SalwaOwens.com
Thank you Salwa!
Deniz plays football (that’s soccer in the U.S.). And he plays it well.
We started early in the morning over by the old Spring Branch High School, but that didn’t stop the Houston sun from beating down on us for the entire shoot. It felt way above 100. Deniz definitely soldiered through the heat and his tricks and kicks were very quick, but we feel we helped him capture the moment.

Here are some awesome jumping photos with the sun beaming straight into the camera lens. We shoot up to 1/8000ths of a second shutter speed, so the equipment was hard at work!
A few action shots of ball handling and kicking.
And a few awesome poses for the house wall and dad’s office desk!
Thanks again Deniz!
Today we were asked to photograph a 2014 Black Mini Cooper with a few custom additions next to the Biscuit Paint Wall in Montrose.
The Biscuit Paint Wall was introduced to Houston in May 2014 when the company relocated to their new Montrose address. It has become a fad to pose next to it — usually while jumping in the air. As we arrived, there was someone taking yoga photos in front of it. Definitely a pretty background!
You can visit the Biscuit Paint Wall by heading to 1435 Westheimer Rd. Houston, TX 77006. It will be there 24-7, but you might try arriving early to get photos without cars parked in front!
Thanks to Alice and her beautiful Mini!
Micah is an adorable little girl with two parents who really, really love her.
So today mom and dad took us to a cool bike trail in Houston with lots of shade to filter that hot Texas sun.
The trail was by a river, so maybe that’s why the humidity was so high. It wasn’t hot but the photographers were sweating a lot (we’ll spare you photos of us soaking our shirts with man-salt).
For some reason little Micah didn’t sweat the humidity (puns!).
We captured some beautiful moments…
…but it was easy because Micah was so cute!!
Sebastian is a father of three who had a great idea. You see, he owns a Samoa Orange Audi R8. He also has a 1-year old baby girl named Mila. So he bought a toy R8 for Mila, but it wasn’t Samoa Orange.
What’s a loving father to do?
Have it painted the same shade of Samoa Orange at a real automotive paint shop with authentic car paint.
And a clear coat ^_^.
It was hot…
…and Mila let us know when she wasn’t feeling it.
But overall she was great! (Don’t worry parents, Mila was cool in mom’s air conditioned truck during setup for each scene.)
Mila and dad looked great together. But next time we’ll have to get mom in there too. Perhaps we’ll need a third R8? ^_^
